Lent “The world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever”(1 John 2:17). Each pillar of Lent seeks to purify us and help us shed worldly loves and attachments, that God might be all in all within our hearts.
The weary soul Pride had blinded me to the most obvious element of my relationship with Jesus Christ: I am a perpetual sinner, and He is my perpetual Savior.
Waiting What right do we have to claim we are too busy for Him? We have none. Our Creator deserves intentional, undivided time from us, and as we wait in that stillness, He is faithful to meet us.
Raw Here I am. Raw, broken, and gross, but here I will always be. Willing and desperate for an eternity to know You.
Washed The One who cleanses us is our very Lord and Master because He so desires to present you spotless that He comes low to take care of us as we walk.
Following Him Day by day, I feel more exposed before my Creator, as He reveals layers of sins and strongholds I must surrender to Him. Without His loving guidance, I would be full of shame, guilt, and condemnation. With Him, I realize this is the process of refinement. It’s His promise, His process in action, to present us holy, as He is holy.
Psalm 133 (Luke 24:27) is one of my favorite verses because it highlights a fact we often overlook, especially regarding the Old Testament: all the Scriptures point back to Jesus.
Tree-likeness These trees that we on our best day might consider “majestic scenery” are actually one of the Lord’s beautiful and recurring analogies for godly believers.
Deeper: Dwelling in the Secret Place Deep roots ensure abundant fruit. God deposits His Word within our hearts, but as believers we must steward this seed by abiding in His presence, and allowing Him to teach us.
Only He is Worthy Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, ‘The Lord reigns!’
